When comparing the Intel 520 to the 530 model one definitely stands ahead of the other. They both have the same memory capacity of 240 GB. Although the 530 model is thinner than the 520 model, the performance of the 520 over the 530 is astounding. The random read of the 520 model, 50,000 IOPS, out does that of the 530 model, 41,000 IOPS. Their random writes statistics are equal in numbers, but their speeds or reading and writing are comparable. The sequential read of the 520, 550 MB/S, beats that of the 530, 540 MB/s.
It is the same when comparing the statistics of the sequential write, the 520 comes in at 520MB/S while the 530 lags behind at 490 MB/S. There is a difference in their power consumption as well. The amount of power that the 520 model uses is about quadrupled the amount of the 530, 0.85 watts compared to 0.20 watts.
