Who doesn’t know Samsung and Intel? Seriously, these two brands have become universally known. Mainly specializing in the field of electronics and computer stuff, with the rising popularity of SSD as a replacement for HDD, the two have also created their own models. What people seek from an SSD are speed and capacity. Not only it should be able to contain a large amount of data, but it also must provide exceptional performance so that data access can be as fast as possible, allowing for more intensive usage. Samsung has released Samsung 950 Pro as the answer, while Intel has Intel 750. Do you want to know which model holds the best value for our money? Read on!
Speed and Performance
As each manufacturer usually tends to design their own architecture, it is no surprise that both Samsung and Intel boast about having wall-breaking technologies in the products. Both models boast to be much, much faster than any HDD and even than most other SSD products on the market. Intel 750 makes such a bold statement by claiming to be four times faster than SATA SSDs, but this is proven as Intel 750 is able to provide amazing speed and performance: up to 2,200 MB/s and 900 MB/s for sequential read and write, 430k IOPS and 230k IOPS for random read and write, respectively. Even so, actually, Samsung 950 Pro is even faster, having maximum sequential read and write of 2,500 MB/s and 1,500 MB/s, maximum random read and write of 300k IOPS and 110k IOPS. Testing the two contenders, Samsung 950 Pro scores a higher benchmark result than Intel 750. In fact, Samsung 950 Pro possesses one of the best, if not the best, performance among all SSD products currently available.
Capacity, Additional Features, Price
Samsung 950 Pro is only available in 256 GB and 512 GB. Intel 750 can be acquired in 400 GB or 1 TB. For the sake of comparison, we will just pick the variants that are the closest to each other, Samsung 950 Pro 512 GB and Intel 750 400 GB. Even though Samsung 950 Pro has a bigger capacity, its price is still lower than Intel 750 GB’s price. Furthermore, Samsung 950 Pro has been optimized with AES 256-bit data encryption to provide some security and data protection. (Related versus: Samsung 950 Pro Vs 850 Pro)
